30m+ grid

There are a number of medium resolution DEMs available. These products include the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission SRTM 30/90m datasets, and the GDEM 30m dataset.

The SRTM DEM is an interferometric DEM produced from radar data collected from a Shuttle mission in 2000. The GDEM is a DEM produced from stereo imagery collected from the ASTER sensor and processed semi-automatically by ERSDAC and JPL.

Geoimage is also able to supply our clients with the NEXTMap World 30 DEM products. This 30m DEM, generated by Intermap, is also produced from interferometric radar data.

These datasets are best suited for broad-scale projects, which do not require the high levels of accuracy or detail provided by finer resolution DEMs. They are suitable for imagery processing, where other DEM datasets are unavailable especially in cloudy places, along with broad scale topographical mapping projects.
