Where were you on 8-8-88?

On the 8th August 1988, at the same time as Russian troops were pulling out of Afghanistan after nine years of fighting, the discovery of our most distant galaxy was announced and the Duchess of York gave birth to Princess Beatrice, here in Queensland Bob Walker and Sylvia Michael started our business – Geoimage Pty Ltd.

Bob Walker and Sylvia MichaelWhat an incredible story we have to tell and a remarkable achievement we are celebrating now.  It’s testament to the vision and determination shown on that day by Bob and Syl, and to the strategy and passion from all who have been involved since to make the business what it has become – the premier supplier of satellite imagery and products here in Australia. Of course this achievement has only made been possible due to the clients we have had the privilege to work with over this time - there are some who we have been working with for the full 25 years and continue to do so today. One of our core values throughout this time has been to ensure we give friendly and expert advice and strive to provide the best level of service possible. This has been a key factor in our success and remains as important to us today as ever.

I turned 21 four days after the 8th of the 8th 1988 – there sure has been a lot of water under the bridge since then.
